As an ambassador for Christ who is a living example of 2 Corinthians 1:4, the Lord continues to walk me through so many challenging seasons. As I turn to Him, He comforts me so I can in turn comfort others as I provide Christian counseling. As a conduit for the Lord's work, I have the joy of walking with people in all seasons of life - Matthew 5:16 inspires me to glorify the Lord with everything the Lord has given to me.
I am actively engaged at my church and sing as a member of the worship team whenever possible. I am an ally with Diamonds -- a non-profit ministry for people who are suffering from chronic illness and was blessed to be a guest speaker at the national Diamonds conference in 2023 and 2024. On my days off, I enjoy quiet time with the Lord, singing, spending time with my family (including the fur babies), catching up with friends, organic gardening, and reading.
On the road to earning my Master's Degree in Counseling at Colorado Christian University, I was blessed to complete my practicum at Mountain States Children's Home. Internship was a diverse experience at both the InnerBalance Health Center and with Crossroads Counseling Associates. While providing Christian therapy in diverse locations, the Lord helped me to grow in my skills and showed me how to meet people where they are while offering hope. I am licensed through DORA in the State of Colorado and am a Certified Complex Trauma Professional. I am trained in brainspotting, which gently helps the entire system release what has been stored at a deep level--a powerful approach within the realm of Christian counseling. Doxy, the secure telehealth platform I use, enables people who live all over Colorado (who qualify) to connect with me.
I am so blessed to get to connect with people like you from my home office! I will probably introduce you to my kitty Rikki who is oftentimes snoozing on my lap. I also have a playful and rambunctious pup Nala -- feel free to introduce me to your fur babies too! As a Christian anxiety therapist, I understand that our pets can be a source of calm and comfort, so your pet is welcome in our sessions.
My costs are transparent so there are no surprises. Whether we meet virtually or in person, I charge $125 for a 50-minute session. Per my billing disclosure, there is a fee incurred for no shows and cancellations with less than 24 hours (business day) notice.
"I have been meeting with Katherine for a while now. We have worked through a variety of techniques together, each of which has been successful in different ways. She is quick to adjust her style based on where I am-emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually-each time we meet. Katherine is consistently prayerful during our sessions, allowing her to determine how best to be present, what questions to ask, and how to give space for silence. She is incredibly kind and compassionate, and I walk away from each of our sessions feeling better understood by her and, more importantly, better understanding myself. In each session, I am able to examine my inward world, process my emotions, determine and cling to God's truth, and walk forward with a renewed sense of purpose and belief in my ability to move forward in life. If you are looking to experience healing and freedom, I highly recommend meeting with Katherine!"
Sure, there is a time and a place for talk therapy. What I have found though is that many people feel stuck when they are just talking or they feel more fired up about the topic they are unpacking. What if you are able to finally get to the 'heart of the matter' and figure out what is driving your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a Christ-centered way? Would that be aligned with your values and goals? Let's connect!
