As a private pay practitioner, I do not work with insurance, nor do I pathologize. Why?
1) Insurance companies require me, as your therapist, to divulge some sensitive information about your treatment.
2) Insurance companies require me to provide you with a diagnosis, which means viewing you through the lens of pathology. I honor your uniqueness and find diagnostic terms, at times, to be counterproductive to psychological well-being and simply not biblically aligned with how God sees us as His children.
3) Insurance companies will oftentimes dictate how many sessions you and I are approved to complete together. Those parameters can be restrictive, and I want to do what is in your best interest as we collaboratively create an action plan for your soul care.
*Unless you attend a church that has agreed to partner with me, if you are on Medicare or Medicaid, unfortunately we will not be able to work together.
Yes, now that I have a NPI number, I can provide you with a superbill upon request, so be sure to talk to me about this when we first meet. Please make sure your benefits include mental health support. Payment is due at time of service. Superbills are issued to clients at the end of each month and then you take it from there. If you have previously been diagnosed, then we can use that code. *Updated July 2024
My standard rate is $120 for a 50-minute session. Some people want to go deeper, so they choose a longer 80-minute session for $180. Should you desire this option, these spots need to be booked with at least a 2-week advance notice please.
I meet with people M-Th starting at 9am and my final time slot is at 5pm. We can schedule after each session, and many people choose to book a month at a time to ensure their favorite time spot is reserved. In each season, I accept a limited number of clients so that I can be fully engaged with each person.
Yes! I offer 80-minute deep dive brainspotting sessions since so many people feel that the 50-minutes is just too short to accomplish their goals. This option will enable you to optimize your time and many clients report meeting their processing goals faster when they choose longer sessions. You can always try a deep dive and see how it feels.
I encourage you to pray about your therapeutic journey. Then, listen to that still small voice inside and your felt sense of what is a good fit. Most clients know after our initial consult if they want to move forward or need to pivot into a different direction. If you have chatted with me and then decide not to schedule, that is okay! It is important for you to feel at peace with whomever you choose to walk with, and I know I am not the right fit for everyone.
Together we will create a care plan and part of that will include determining the frequency of our sessions. Whatever we agree upon can always be amended and I will offer periodic check in points as well so we can both be accountable and provide feedback to one another.
What I've found is that the Holy Spirit gently lets us both to know when it is time to make changes to the care plan or simply to move on. Some people choose to identify new goals once their initial objectives have been reached and others discontinue therapy as soon as they begin to feel better consistently. Another option is to meet on an 'as needed basis.'
Yes, some examples of when I may need to refer you to an in-person counselor or additional resources includes the following: disclosing an addiction to illicit drugs, having an eating disorder, living in an unsafe environment, desiring to commit suicide, or experiencing a debilitating reaction to a prescription (just a few examples.)
